Data stays in Switzerland
All case data is held in Zurich. Nothing is transferred abroad.
Death tech from Switzerland
Velorio is the funeral home software for Swiss funeral services: a digital consultation book that follows the first conversation — and every document of the case out of the same data.
All case data is held in Zurich. Nothing is transferred abroad.
Roles, separation between businesses and logging are part of the architecture, not a later addition.
Developed together with a funeral service in the canton of Bern — from real cases, not from a whiteboard.
The situation
In Switzerland a death triggers more than forty administrative procedures, spread across authorities, crematoria, municipalities, insurers and service providers. Today they run on paper, telephone and email.
72,000
deaths per year in Switzerland
40+
administrative procedures per death
50+
offices and providers involved
2–4 h
of administration per case
For the funeral director this means duplicate entry and searching. For the family it means uncertainty in a week when they have no strength to spare.
How it runs
The funeral service records the death: core details, location, responsible person. From here on there is one shared source.
The digital consultation book guides the first conversation through ten steps — on a tablet, with a pen, right at the family's table.
The order confirmation, the power of attorney and the notifications to the authorities are generated from data that has already been entered. No second entry, no transcription errors.
The handover to the back office runs on a checklist built from your own templates. What is done stays documented — still traceable weeks later.
The heart of it
The structure follows the conversation as it is actually held — not the logic of a form. Every step saves continuously and can be completed later.
The cost overview is kept current and stays visible throughout the conversation. Prices are never filled in automatically — the reference value from the price list is a hint; the decision belongs to the person advising.
Every feature for funeral directorsOur stance
Velorio is not an online shop. Every interaction is designed to match the weight of the occasion.
No shopping cart, no discounts, no urgency. There is a selection, an overview and a cost estimate.
We write "the deceased person", not "angel". Clarity is more respectful than a soft phrase.
Large type, calm colours, WCAG 2.1 AA as a minimum — still readable at the end of a long day.
A saved entry is confirmed, not celebrated. No confetti, no exclamation marks.
We prefer to show Velorio along a real case. A conversation takes about forty minutes and commits you to nothing.
